About This Course

Course Content

A no nonsense approach to working effectively and happily with other humans. Learn practical skills for creating functional, resilient and enjoyable groups that get things done.

For anyone who ever left a meeting feeling drained, or arrived at a meeting with full of dread, or sat for hours in talking shops, or watched their dream project fall apart because of impossible dynamics. For anyone worn out with dealing with difficult people, or tired of being that difficult person. There is another way. 

Course Structure 

2 full days packed with participatory packed with activities, talks and discussions in a relaxed and informal environment. 

Come as a group and learn together.

Sarah Pugh  Sarah Pugh has been teaching Permaculture in Bristol for 18 years. She is a founder member of the Bristol Permaculture Group and set up Transition Bristol in 2007. In 2000 she worked as the Community Gardener at Easton Community Centre and with various voluntary sector organisations, events and projects. In 2010 she co-founded Shift Bristol. 


She has huge experience of positive and negative group dynamics and has spent the last two decades learning techniques and skills for working happily with others. She went to a lot of bad meetings before discovering (sometimes the hard way) there were easier ways. 

She has studied with Nick Osborne, Starhawk, Marina Sala and others. She teaches the Group Dynamics module on the Practical Sustainability Course and works with the directors, partners, tutors and student group throughout their year-long adventure.

The course is non-residential but we can connect you with lovely local permaculture group members offering free couch surfing or spare room accommodation from £10 per night.
