Living Willow Installation

How Does It Work?

Shift Bristol brings a group of 30 x students, a course facilitator, and a Living Willow professional weaver to install the living willow structure(s).

The installation is completed in one day between 9.30-3.30: we would be on site from 8.45am - 4.15pm (this includes set up/pack down time).

Date: TBC within our PSC timetable - Somewhere between Nov 2026 and Feb 2027

Shift Bristol & Community Partner Exchange:

Shift Bristol pays the cost of the weaver, provides all tools and labour, and pays for the materials (budget of up to £350).

See here for the types of living willow structures that can be installed. We can usually install 1 large-ish structure or 2 smaller ones.

We need to collaborate with community greenspaces who have other jobs/tasks that will also need doing at the same time.

Jobs/tasks such as weeding, compost creation, fixing/mending etc, simple woodwork. This is due to needing to split the large group of students into half as not everyone can weave at the same time.

Costs for other materials are not covered in this exchange, and someone from your team will need to work with and guide our students through these jobs/tasks.

A tour of your work/project would also be great!
